Matcha, or powdered green tea, combined with steamed milk of your choice– served on ice.
THE HISTORY OF MATCHA:
Chinese Zen Buddhist monks were the first to popularize powdered tea over 900 years ago, heralding its flavor, health benefits, and ritualistic preparation. The Japanese adopted the rituals in the 11th century, and have been the world’s most prominent source and proponent of matcha ever since. While the US only recently hopped on the bandwagon, it boasts a record-number of uses beyond tea and lattes: also ice cream, waffles, cookies, and cakes.
